my attempt to capture 52 photos that represent joy - my word for 2010}
i bought a bunch of yellow gerbera daisies at the market last week and put them in a vase on the dining room table. you would not believe how much they brightened up this grey rainy week. even at night, i'd come downstairs and it was like they were shining out of the darkness at me.
lately, one of my favorite songs to use for shiva nata practice or meditation is ganesha sharanam by jai uttal. i stumbled across the song on itunes when i was looking for kirtan music. i don't know what it is about this particular song but, almost every time i hear it, it pierces me to the core.
my silver puppy has white hairs on his chin. i cannot deny it any longer.
on the one hand, this makes me sad. it reminds me that someday he will leave me and my heart will break.
on the other hand, this makes me happy. it reminds me of many years of fun. (wow! i've had a puppy for years! how time does fly.)
besides, it makes him look rather distinguished, like an elderly statesman. i have dubbed him sir atlas, to which he replied, "it's about time. no more of this sweetie nonsense. now, fetch me my dinner."
p.s. in case you are interested, here's a little reminder that there is a pay it forward giveaway going on. i'll draw the names on sunday.
