lately, one of my favorite songs to use for shiva nata practice or meditation is ganesha sharanam by jai uttal. i stumbled across the song on itunes when i was looking for kirtan music. i don't know what it is about this particular song but, almost every time i hear it, it pierces me to the core.

It reminds me of some of the music from Slumdog Millionare. I like the Bollywood style of music.

Love the little elephant and I'm wondering if he might just be sitting on an "unearth scarf"??

Oh yes, I can easily see how this would be a fabulous song for Shiva Nata! Thanks for sharing it - I may join you and practice to Ganesha Sharanam, imagining that we're shivanauting it up together...

@josiane: you can also get sita ram (by krishna das) from itunes - which is one of the songs that havi played quite a bit during the retreat. i love using that one too. :)

Ganesha on the pretty scarf is such a lovely image. He is one of my favorite Hindu deities! Wonderful energy. :)
