i was about to delete this photo when i realized that looking at it makes me really happy.
it reminds me of gumdrops. or lollipops. or cotton candy. or maybe the game of candyland.
do you remember candyland? i loved it. while i was playing, i was imagining how much fun it would be to climb a gum drop mountain or walk through a candy cane forest in real life. can you imagine?
speaking of candy mountains and forests .. did you eat a lot of candy when you were little? when i eat candy now, more than a few pieces tears up the roof of my mouth. how come that never happens when you're little?

I never played Candyland growing up- can you believe it? I was robbed.
We didn't have lots of candy growing up and maybe it's a good thing- I never really crave it now and it tends to get stale around here. My sister was asking the other week if she could have some Starburst and I told her "sure but they were purchased well over a year ago!" She ate them anyway. Very chewy. :)
M&M's and dark chocolate never go bad though- sometimes it's a problem.

"when i eat candy now, more than a few pieces tears up the roof of my mouth"
That happens to me too sometimes. I think it has to do with the way I suck on it (between my tongue and the roof of my mouth) instead of crunching it with my teeth.

This photo reminds me a bit of these raspberry drops my grandmother used to like. They were lumpy, mimicking the look of raspberries. Your photo is a happy one! I'm glad you didn't delete it. :)

i love this pic too. candyland was my FAVORITE game. i think i cheated a lot because i didn't like to lose.
this photo (and friday's) remind me of the cards i won {yay!} and i wanted to tell you that i sent one to a friend who had to put her beloved doggie of 16 years to sleep. it seemed like the perfect way to send her what i didn't know how to say. so... thanks again.

i ate soooo much candy when i was little carmelos, laffy taffy, now and laters, twizzlers, milky ways, tootsie roll pops....now the sides of my jaws are tingling. thank goodness i got it out of my system. i eat a tad of dark chocolate every now and then.
thank you for the visual. its amazing how we can find inspiration in somthing we were about to discard.
love this! love you!

I also loved playing Candyland. We didn't own the game but there was an old one at my Grandma's camp that we would play every time we went there! Does candy tear up the roof of your mouth because you are a good girl and only suck on it? I'm assuming you were talking of things like jolly ranchers or peppermints or suckers? I chew those things almost as soon as they are in my mouth so I don't have any of that torn up roof top syndrome. I still love candy. Especially jelly bellies, skittles, and chewy sprees.

it reminds me of lollipops, or bubble gum:) and i don't remember playing candyland as a kid, maybe all my siblings were too old and busy to play w/ me;) but i did play it A LOT when i worked for great explorations.

SO GLAD you didn't delete that photo, Elizabeth... it is MAGICAL! It does had a great candy-like quality...mmm... Reminds me too of crystaline millinery flowers. I DO remember Candyland...that takes me back to Saturday fun as a child, playing board games with my sister. :o) I didn't eat a lot of candy as a child, and as an adult I still don't. I don't like gum either, never really did. Chocolate though--now we're talking! ;o) Happy Days ((HUGS))

Love it! I didn't play Candyland when I was little, either. :-(
I remember when Pop Rocks first hit the market and everyone loved them so much. I hated them! Tore my mouth up!! The roof of my mouth gets sore and peels every time I eat tomato sauce or watermelon, and sometimes bananas, if they're very ripe. Doesn't stop me from eating them, though. :-) Well, except the bananas. I like them kinda green and crunchy!

I was in one of those weird families who discourages candy. It wasn't until I was about 11 and went home for the weekend with a new friend that I realized some people eat a *lot* of candy. Her mom was perfectly fine allowing her and her brother to have a Friday night junk food fest rather than dinner, while I came piteously close to tears surveying the feast of sweet tarts and M&Ms. When I suggested that wasn't real dinner, they offered me potato chips. ;)
This photo makes me think of the "pink bubble technique" in Creative Visualization. I'm so glad you didn't delete it. I would totally hang it on my studio wall!

i never played candyland- but i do remember it, and your picture does make me think of it too! i love anything pink and bubbly! :)

Well, you asked.... so it's true confessions time! Not only did I eat a lot of candy when I was little (in the days when there truly was "penny candy"!)but I still do. I've developed very good oral hygiene habits to counteract it (good thing!) but I love the chewy stuff - red licorice, gummy worms and laffy taffy and not a day goes by that I don't chew on some mentos and also a nip or 2 (you know, the hard candy with the soft center). I do indulge in chocolate, but not as much as the other stuff.
Oh, I'm so glad you didn't delete that photo - it's sooo happy!!

I LOVE this photo. LOVE IT!! I am so very glad you didn't delete it. As a child I enjoyed candy, but didn't eat it much because my mom was very careful with our diet. Now, I don't tend to eat it unless it is chocolate. Why waste the calories?

so . glad . you . didnt .

@elk: :)
@relyn: we had limits too, except for things like easter or christmas .. or if we snuck to the store and bought it. ;)
@patty: i do love licorice and can eat a whole bag of it. actually, that's the one thing that doesn't hurt my mouth. hmmm. is that good or bad?
@kerri: it was a fun game.
@meredith: i am giggling at the potato chip offer. your teeth probably thank you.
@sherron: pop rocks! i think i had them once. they were so fizzy. the banana thing fascinates me - wonder why that happens?
@tracy: i did love gum. there are lots of photos of me with something pink or green or .. hanging out of my mouth. ;) but now i can't eat it anymore. it hurts my jaw.
@helen: what?! i'm sure your siblings had oodles of time for you! you were the cute baby. ;)

@holly: i don't think that's it. i rarely eat hard candy so i notice it for chewy candy. i think it's just all that sugar .. but oh, i do love jelly bellies. mmmmm.
@mindy: carmelos! i loved those. i do remember laffy taffy and now & laters too. oh, the memories. sounds like your jaw does not remember all that candy fondly. ;)
@michelle: i hated losing too - at anything. thank you for sharing that. it seems fitting somehow. my heart goes out to your friend.
@lynn: i remember those too! i think my grama would put them out at holiday time.
@jerry: you and holly have got me thinking. i may need to buy some candy and see what i do.
@julie: you were so robbed! you know what would be fun .. to have a girls' night with "old" board games. pfft. as if games from our childhood are old. ;)

I loved Candyland! I imagined all of that, too! I was never a big candy eater, even when I was little. I always liked pickles and olives when I was a kid! (Still do!)
