i think i mentioned that i am starting my own happiness project (inspired by the book, the happiness project). this month marks the beginning of my project. the theme for september is celebrate.
i may or may not have mentioned that i am trying to cultivate an attitude of celebration in my daily life. i have a tendency to think that you only celebrate big events - birthdays or anniversaries or holidays or graduations. what i want is to remember that you can celebrate anything - that it really is an attitude that can be cultivated.
i am finding that when i remember to celebrate the little things, there is more joy and more fun in my life, and i have more appreciation for life in general. (i guess it really is the little things.)
today, i am celebrating the fact that i managed to take two photos that i have been wanting to take for a while now. yay!
if you want to join in, i'd love to celebrate with you. feel free to share something you want to celebrate in the comments, and i will jump for joy along with you. (you can also whisper it into the wind, and i will celebrate with you in spirit.)

Warning: earlyearly morning snark follows, said tongue-in-cheek.
Today I am celebrating that the Robot Roll is Over. (5 hours and counting.) I don't even care if he is a success, or total failure. Just o.v.e.r. Period.
I've heard that a passion is something that you'd do even if you were bad at it. At this point, the robot qualifies....Good to know.
I'm celebrating that part.

This is a WONDERFUL idea! I'm all for celebrating the big and little every single day--life is too short not to! :o) Today I am celebrating a free afternoon--the first in quite a long while. I've been baking wholewheat rolls, weeding the flower beds, doing laundry, amking soup for lunch--reveling in domestic bliss and going slow...aaahhh...feels good! Happy Day, Elizabeth ((HUGS))

that is the cutest darn cake. reminds me of fall.
i'm celebrating the holiday by really taking a day off (well, mostly). we're going for a drive to a little down about an hour from here and hanging out in its quaintness.
thank for sharing your celebrations and inspiring us to do the same!!

Oh, I adored that book. I found it potentially life-changing. Right now I'm still ruminating on my own project. Mulling it over. I'll be joining you before too long. Best of luck on yours.
Celebrations
I've spent the weekend with my camera again.
The Oklahoma Aquarium was amazing.
I have a quiet day alone.

Congratulations! I haven't really done anything yet today but get out of bed (I'm not even dressed yet), so I will celebrate having a quiet, lazy morning. :)

*raises a glass* i am celebrating with all of you! so glad you joined in.
@steph: quiet lazy mornings are the best.
@relyn: camera + aquariums + quiet + purple = perfection.
@michelle: that sounds like so much fun. enjoy your day off!
@marcie: thanks! i think it will be a good thing to focus on.
@gayle: beauty + mini-vacations (also) = perfection. love it.
@tracy: that *sounds* good! enjoy your free afternoon!
@bullwinkle: i've heard that definition too. i am very curious about this robot roll (can i interpret literally?) after your mentions. celebrating the fact that it's over - and one of your passions - with you.

Oh cool! A happiness project! I've been thinking of starting one of my own. Love your idea of "cultivating an attitude of celebration".
This morning I'm celebrating the simple pleasure of my morning coffee. Just 'cuz it's caramel flavored and delicious!

Very cool, Elizabeth. I am doing an online "book club"/discussion of the Happiness Project over at my blog (awonderingspirit.blogspot.com). We are on March right now, working through one chapter a week. I would love it if you could join us!

@holli: i'll check it out, thank you! i returned the book to the library, so i'm not sure i'll remember enough to participate, but i might surprise myself. :)
@tricia: oh! that's fabulous! i am cheering with you!
@sarah: mmmmm. three cheers for delicious caramel-flavored coffee!

sometimes, what i celebrate is just being able to celebrate. i too often get stuck in a "funk" that cannot be broken. i celebrate when it hasn't broken me yet :)

I'm celebrating writing a blog post and getting back into craft with a nice cup of green tea. Well done on doing the photos :)
Must get back to my happiness project this weekend [left my reminders at uni].

I keep thinking about this book (Happiness Project). I have picked it up several times in the bookstore, and put it down again. And now, after visiting you this evening, I am certain I want to go back to the store and pick up my own copy. I love your theme of celebrate. I love the idea of doing a happiness project of my own.
Thank you so very much for the inspiration and the final kick in the pants to get started. xoxo
