whether or not i care about an actual "holiday", i love the idea of a day (or week) (or month) of love. i especially love the idea of a day (or week) (or month) (or lifetime) of showing kindness and love to ourselves. i am not very good at this - i suspect i am not alone - but it does grow easier the more i practice.
one of the things that has helped me practice has been learning to listen to myself, especially learning to listen to my body. there is something magical that happens when we slow down, when we pay attention, when we listen - even if the listening is all we can do just yet.
but sometimes it's hard to do this on our own. sometimes it helps to have someone show us the way.
if you are wanting to learn to listen to your body and are in need of a guide, i have an offering designed to do just that - it's a festival of love and attention. for the month of february, i added a special - a taste of the festival instead of the full admission. if the offer resonates with you, and the timing is right, i would love to see you at the festival.
festival or no, february seems a lovely month to think about showing love and kindness to ourselves as well as others. don't you agree?

oh wow! I am LOVING that picture! I love how the flower seems to just melt off the page....

That photo is VERY WOW, Elizabeth! I just sizzles... smoking of LOVE & JOY... FANTASTIC! Funnily enough, as you know I was speaking of ritual yesterday at my place. And I like your ideas on how we can take time to tune in, listen to what our bodies are trying to tell us (and they are always trying to get our scattered attention, aren't they?!) and be kind to ourselves. Something I've been doing for a couple of months now is to take one afternoon a week at home, and I do a longer yoga session with meditation, then I make a pot of tea and do some journaling or other artistic expression. Just me time for at least two hours. I has really changed my week for the better! I'd like to somehow sneak a bit of this into every day of the week, not just one day... Working on it. ;o) Happy Day, my friend ((HUGS))

@tracy: i love your way of taking me time! i've been doing something similar on friday nights - though i usually listen to a recorded call from a class and then read and knit. it is a lovely way to wind down the week.
@liss: hello!! i am off to check on you. :)
@steph: hear, hear!
@kelly: *mwah*
@kate: isn't that cool?! i was having such fun with it.
