isn't she beautiful!
in case you're wondering, lila is a sanskrit word that refers to the creative play of the divine. it seemed like the perfect name for her. (though now it occurs to me that it would also be a fantastic name for a female weimaraner, if there is ever one of those in my life. could i have a dog and a plant with the same name? would that be confusing?)
i found her on a tray of plants outside new seasons one day and was so excited. partly because the plants were outside, so i was sure that they'd survive my cold(er) apartment (unlike my poor elkhorn fern). partly because the plant lady informed me that they were actually meant to go outdoors (but that i could probably put it on my desk), so i was sure that they'd survive the fact that my love for things often translates into over-watering (unlike my cactus).
she now sits on my desk as a reminder of the qualities i want to nurture in my life and business (like trust & wisdom & strength & possibility & beauty & presence & kindness) and of my desire to live in a way that is more aligned with the natural world (with seasons & cycles & time for both resting & blooming).

LOVE the name Lila and what it signifies. (And yes, you probably could have a plant and a weim of similar name.... you just might need to say "Lila-dog" so everyone's happy. ;o) I really like your use of having an object, like this plant Lila, to symbolize your quest right now and what you are going for. We all need a little talisman of sorts, don't we? Happy Day, Elizabeth ((HUGS))

Lila-the-plant won't come when you call her. Lila-the-weim, might. For a good treat ;) (I include a kind word and snuggle amongst my definition of "treat".)
Lovely thoughts
