i was going to delete this photo, but it reminded me that i need to tell you something very important.
dog feet do not smell like fritos.
there. now you know.
i can't be the only one who's read in a million different places that puppy feet smell like fritos, right? not that i would know, because i didn't read this very interesting fact while atlas was still a puppy. what i can say is that i have smelled his feet many times, just to be sure, and i am absolutely positive that they don't smell like fritos. in fact, if you have a dog, i might suggest that you not smell their feet at all. ever.

WOW... it really is true, we learn something new and important every day! :o) Puppy feet like Fritos... haha... I wonder what kitty feet smell like? Uh, I think I'll pass... Our Charlie's been out in the garden a lot lately. ;o) VERY fun post, Elizabeth. And don't delete any Atlas photos--always show us first. ;o) Happy Day ((HUGS))

i have never read that....but our dog's feet do not smell like that. they like exactly what she's just stepped in....grass, mud, bird poop or the pancake batter that just dumped.

My first thought was that I must smell my dogs' feet. My second thought was what they have been stepping in.
Sometimes it is good to think twice before acting.

I've heard people say that, too! My dogs' feet just smell like dirt to me. Nothing special. And could you please get that thing outta my face? (my cocker spaniel likes to paw me on the face to say "thank you" for petting her)

Abigail the Rat Terrier's tootsies always smelled like Frito's.

i've never heard that. if i get a puppy someday i'll have to remember to check. (and i also wouldn't dare to smell atlas' feet now...i can only imagine) :)

i once had a bassett hound who smelled like fritos all over! but i've always thought really little puppies smell like frankfurters and little kittens smell like warm milk. atlas on the other hand probably just smells like LOVE! (very pretty feet for a big dog)

Hate to make my first comment on this great blog a contradictory one, but I have to say that not only do my dog's paws smell like Fritos, they smell *delightfully* like Fritos :-)
Perhaps it's a Lab thing?

Um... never heard that. But I'm married to a man that doesn't let a day go by without eating fritos and I'm a big cuddler with my dog, so I think I speak with authority here... no, no resemblance!

oh, i am giggling away over here.
@patty: your dog's feet should smell like fritos just by association then!
@hughmcbride: i want to smell your dog's feet now! i knew it had to be true of some dogs or else i wouldn't read it so often. i was thinking maybe it was a puppy thing, but i wonder if it is a breed thing. do you think people would look askance at me if i asked to smell their dog's paws? ;)
@tammy: frankfurters and milk! i can imagine the kitten smell but the frankfurter smell is cracking me up.
@helen: you can smell them in may. hehehe.
@scraps: awwwww. so sweet. i wish atlas' feet did too.
@sherron: ha. i can picture it. atlas likes to whack me with his paw when he thinks it's going to get him a treat. (he knows wave and high five and shake and he gets carried away with them and starts whacking.)
@jerry: yes. possibly i should have thought twice. alas, i did not.
@ann: pancake batter is a good smell. maybe you could spill cookie batter. mmmmmmmmm.
@jakki: welcome! so glad you stopped by, even if i did make you think of a bad smell. ;)
@marcie: it is sweet. it's just a little out of focus.
@tracy: according to atlas, kitty feet smell like heaven. report back and let us know if he's correct, please. ;)

such a dear photo - i'm glad it wasn't deleted. :)
jazz's coat smelled like fritos and sometimes chicken noodle soup but i can't say i ever sniffed his feet.
that puppy of yours is such a sweetheart.

You are so funny.
I have never heard that one.
lol!!

No! wait! Bella's feet DO smell like Dorito's. But not any of the other dogs' feet. So ...statistical anomaly :)
