Namaste.
My name is Elizabeth Halt.
Me in a nutshell.
I am: a visual alchemist, a matchmaker, a thoughtful curator.
My goal in life: to run a sandwich shop called The Picklewich where people can finally get enough pickles on their sandwich.
I am here: because I want your life to be full of beauty.
There are things I do.
I specialize in visual alchemy. I am here to help you remember that in the blink of an eye, the ordinary can become extraordinary. That indeed, it already was. I like to play with my camera. I like to take pictures of things you don't see, or in ways that you don't see them. I am always looking for the Light.
I'm the Reiki girl. I don't know how Reiki works but I believe it does because I've seen what it has done for me. Somehow, Reiki creates a safe space that can help you rest and recharge and renew - and there is something magical that happens when we slow down, when we pay attention, when we listen.
(Sometimes) I teach Shiva Nata. It's a mind-body practice that feels sort of like trying to rub your tummy and scratch your head while standing on your head at the same time as you're eating ribs and learning a foreign language. It's crazy and awesome and fun and transformative. And the more you screw up, the better. (Where else can you get that kind of permission.)
There are things I believe in.
I believe very strongly that there is beauty and Light in everyone and everything. Because of Reiki, I am slowly learning to believe that it is true of me too.
I believe in the power of the story: the power of telling our own story and the power of hearing others' stories. Along with many other reasons, I believe it helps to remind us that we are never alone.
I believe in the power of love and kindness and peace and joy and celebration. Including the power of giving those things to our self (even if I still struggle with this myself).
I believe that we are all on our own path. I will never try to convince you that my path is right for you, and I would rather not be told that your path is right for me.
Most importantly, I believe that you are enough, exactly as you are. I also believe that you are extraordinary. Even (especially) when you don't believe it.
Odds and ends.
I can usually be found outside with the pup, thinking about things, at a cafe, reading, or eating (I am particularly fond of pickles and gelato).
I can recite pi to the 55th decimal place (if I talk really fast - you'll have to trust me), am on a mission to watch every movie with Colin Firth, own a dictionary of Greek/Roman mythology, and am absolutely rubbish at troubleshooting computer problems, even though I have a degree in Computer Science and worked with computers for almost ten years.
